Youth group animation workshop using painted film techniques
This animation was created in a youth workshop commissioned by Stonnington Council - Stonnington Youth Services. The workshop was held at the Grattan Gardens Community Center, Prahran, across two weeks on 5th and 12th December 2024. Participants created small animation drawings on film frames and also painted directly on film material. Congratulations to the participants from the youth Video Game Club! The resulting creative animation sequences were then digitised and edited together with some visual processing to enhance the colours and layers.
Workshop animation film using direct-on-film techniques
This film was created in the workshop held on 12th October 2024 at the workshop venue in Mornington. Workshop participants explored various direct-on-film techniques working on 35mm film leader and found footage. The sequences were created by scratching, drawing, painting, collaging on actual film and were then digitised to create this collective film. Congratulations to the workshop participants who animated the film sequences: Arrik Sutherland-Muir, Clarence Fennessy, Hung Lin, Juan Sebastian Cordon, Michael Hunt. Original audio is composed by Paul Fletcher. The film was digitised and assembled by the workshop tutor Sabrina Schmid.
